Charlotte NC in Top 3 Metro Regions Across the Nation with Annual Increases | A Look at Case-Shiller, by Metro Area
As shown in the Case-Shiller report, Charlotte showed an annual change of 6%. Bear in mind that number is for ALL of Charlotte. There are some areas in the city that are over double that in sales price increases. For example, Dilworth Charlotte NC is up a whopping 37% year-over-year.
Charlotte home sales are definitely on the rebound and spring sales began in early January! We’re seeing multiple Offer situations in the inner city and Uptown areas and even extending into South Charlotte. We had one that we listed this month for $1.1M that received multiple Offers in Waxhaw as well. With the lower interest rates and the threat of rising rates, the buyers are now confident that NOW is the time to buy! If only we could find them a home! Our reduced inventory is significant! Charlotte’s inventory is down a whopping 45% and as you can see below, the Dilworth home inventory is down 57%.
Home prices continued their winning streak of year-over-year gains, according to the S&P/Case-Shiller indexes. See a full list of how cities performed.
“The composite 20-city home price index, a key gauge of U.S. home prices, was up 8.1% in January from a year earlier.
Prices in the 20-city index were 0.1% higher than the prior month even amid the slower winter selling season. Adjusted for seasonal variations, prices were 1% higher month-over-month. All 20 cities posted annual increases in January”
