Things to do in Davidson
When you think “Old Southern Charm”, you can’t help but think about Davidson, North Carolina. Brick sidewalks, shaded streets, and “The Harvard of the South” – Davidson College – define this area of Charlotte real estate. Homes in Davidson, NC vary in style, from Craftsman style to Colonial, Tudor, Victorian and traditional styles, certainly in-keeping with the town’s quaint, college-town feel.
The historic areas of Davidson envelope pedestrians with tall, mature trees, and adorable little retail shops and bistros, all within walking distance. Newer, transitional style homes are more popular in outlying golf course and country club communities such as River Run. Davidson also includes a waterfront community, on Lake Davidson. A highway bridge (1-77) divides Lake Davidson from Lake Norman. Many boaters dock their boats at nearby marinas to access Lake Norman, as you cannot access Lake Norman from Lake Davidson.
