SOUTHPARK NEWS – Major Phillips Place Face-Lift Approved by the City of Charlotte
The City of Charlotte has approved a major revamp to transition the old Dean & DeLuca building and parking lot into a fabulous, new signature Restoration Hardware.
SouthPark’s Restoration Hardware at Phillips Place is currently housed in 8,850 square feet. With the completion of the newly planned building, Restoration Hardware will move into an enormous 39,000-square-foot showroom with an additional 4,600-square-foot second level restaurant & bar.
The incredible new Restoration Hardware building is expected to be the sister of the design gallery space which debuted in New York City recently. This is great news for SouthPark neighborhood!
If you thought the values were impressive of the homes that are walkable to Phillips Place, they will certainly go up with this new renovation in the complex. So, now is a great time to buy a condo or townhome in the area. Here are a few of those soon-to-be red hot communities:
The Restoration Hardware revamp gives us our first glimpse of what’s going to be an enormous redevelopment of Phillips Place. The big name anchor flagship will lead the way to building-out one big piece at a time.
Lincoln Harris is the developer and has been planning this rezoning at Phillips Place since late 2017. The approved development plan includes up to 211,000 square feet of commercial uses, an up-to-130-room hotel and associated uses, 40,000 square feet of theater space and an additional 32 residential units. There is an option for unused commercial space to be converted to a maximum of 82 residential units.
Hampton Inn & Suites has also requested an additional 4,000 square feet of meeting room space.
Another bit of exciting news is that the movie theater operator has proposed the current theatre space become a full-service theatre, offering drinks and dinner. This change would reduce the number of seats to 900, down from the current 1,700 seating capacity.
