Things to Do in Charlotte – Freedom Park (Myers Park | Dilworth Area)
Freedom Park is located between the Myers Park and Dilworth neighborhoods just outside of Uptown Charlotte NC; this popular Mecklenburg County park has it all. There’s something for everyone in this beautiful, expansive park…
You’ll find strollers, walkers & joggers nearly all hours of the day and night here. It’s ‘Puppy Paradise’ and kid-friendly and so expansive that you can even find quiet time for visiting or reading a great book on a bench overlooking the gentle-flowing Sugar Creek that runs through the park and along the Greenway.
The well-lit tennis courts are some of the best public courts in town. There are basketball and volleyball courts – also some of the most frequented in town, where you can always find a good pick-up game. Take a stroll by Sugar Creek or jog around the welcoming duck pond, while enjoying some of your favorite tunes.
The children’s playground area is also a hit or you may even catch an event at the amphitheater, located at the back of the park. Seasonal baseball and soccer games are located ever-so conveniently to those residents of Dilworth & Myers Park. You can even rent covered space for a cook-out at a very reasonable cost.
Freedom Park is also home to the hugely successful fall Festival In The Park.
